POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the YMCA of Scottsbluff, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through early childhood education. The Coordinator Associate will manage all day-to-day program functions of this business venture, in cooperation and coordination with Scottsbluff Public Schools. The Coordinator will supervise all onsite employees and be fully responsible for the care and enrichment of program participants. The Coordinator will participate in staff development activities and the financial development of this program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Leads and participates in the day-to-day program activities in service to all program participants.
  2. Recruits, hires, trains, and directs all onsite staff. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Guides others on how to strengthen knowledge, skills, and competencies that improve organizational performance.
  3. Manages and follows all budget guidelines while managing and protecting all program assets and resources and strategic objectives. Ensure operating budget meets or exceeds targets. Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operations.
  4. Develops and directs the continuing evolution of high-quality participant engagement strategies and programs.
  5. Effectively communicates community benefit and the Y’s impact for all stakeholders (e.g., staff, volunteers, members, community leaders) develops positive working and collaborative relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.

  • Fiscal management and accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Required level of education and experience for State licensing.
  • Five or more years of early childhood education experience.
  • Ability to direct assigned operations, supervise staff, develop and monitor budgets and program development.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Coordinator is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
  • The Coordinator must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
