CHILDCARE TEAM MEMBERS:

The center will be open 9 months of the year with the opportunity to work for the YMCA Day Camp program during the summer months.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Scottsbluff Family YMCA is seeking dedicated Preschool Before & After Childcare Team Members. This role will play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for preschool age children during out-of-school hours. Focus will be placed on fostering positive relationships with children, while ensuring their well-being and development through structured activities and supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities, fostering social interaction and teamwork.
- Implement daily schedules and routines that promote learning and development.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for children, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Build supportive relationships with children and their families by providing regular updates on progress and activities.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute educational and recreational programs.
- Address behavioral issues effectively and positively, promoting a culture of respect and inclusion.
- Follow all state childcare licensing guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Passed background check and drug screening.
- Experience working with children in a daycare, educational, or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of the stages of child development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Decisiveness, patience, and stamina to actively engage in the activities and play.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices.
- Experience in planning and implementing educational activities.
- Passionate about child development and education.
- Empathetic, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
