Fitness Training Classes are one of our core services to our members. The Scottsbluff Family YMCA offers a range of fitness programs for people of all ages and abilities, from children to teenagers to senior citizens. We offer our group exercise classes as well as one on one training with a certified YMCA trainer if you so desire.
Adult Fitness/Group Cycling is included in your membership and we will make it worth your commitment.

Classes & Descriptions
Multi-Purpose Room = MPR
Body Toning – JoAnn (Multi-Purpose Room) Beginner to intermediate level interval training incorporating total body movement, cardio endurance and core conditioning.
Barre without the Bar – Ashley(Multi-Purpose Room) This 45 minute class combines Barre with techniques with Pilates for an intense workout burn without high impact moves. We will do total body work with circuits targeting upper body, legs/glutes and core followed by flexibility stretching.
Body Toning – JoAnn (MPR) Beginner to intermediate level interval training incorporating total body movement, cardio endurance and core conditioning.
Boot Camp – Beth, Conrad, (MPR) A full body workout with a combination of strength, conditioning, and cardio. The program is designed for all fitness levels!
Core Conditioning – Colleen, Isabel (MPR) Strengthen your abdominal, obliques, lower back, glutes and hamstrings using BOSU balls, hand weights, bands, gliders and body weight training. End with a core, hip, and hamstring stretching sequence, 45-minute class.
Fitness Fun – Beth, Conrad, Kristi (North gym) 45 minutes of a mixture of cardio, strength and core exercises focusing on total body endurance and conditioning.
Kick Box Conditioning – Laz, Conrad, Ashley (North Gym) High intensity kickbox and circuit training promoting endurance and core strength along with increased mental and physical focus.
GROUP CYCLING – Beth, Conrad, Dana, JoAnn, Colleen, Wendy (MPR) This class is for everyone, at any age and at every level of fitness. This is a forty to fifty minute cardio workout on a spinning bike. Fun, safe and challenging.
Gym Grit – Conrad (West Gym) 45 min class mixing body weight strength training, basketball drills, and plyometric HIIT exercises.
Hi/Lo Cardio – Nicole (MPR) This class is a great combination of high intensity cardio with low impact. No matter your fitness level, you will be able to move your body with easy to follow exercises! We will begin with warm up and stretches then proceed to a cardio workout using choreographed aerobics which could include kickboxing to increase your heart rate. We then move into a body sculpting segment which may include the use of a stability ball, free weights or resistance bands, followed up by a cool down and stretches.
Pop Pilates – Nicole (TRX) This class takes classical pilates to the next level by challenging students to rhythmically flow from one exercise to the next, developing a rock-solid core and leaving no muscle untouched. It is a mat-based fusion of ab-chiseling and total body defining moves.
Power Pump – Miranda, Leticia, Nicole, Tainn (MPR) In this weight training class, you can expect to squat, chest press, dead row, lunge, curl, and clean and press to music using variable barbell weight with high repetition.
Power Pump Extreme – Isabel All the elements of traditional Pump with challenging cardio intervals inserted between Pump sets.
Senior Fitness – Cheri, Brenda, Alycia, Ashley (MPR) Silver Sneakers – for improving strength, flexibility, posture and balance. Exercise at your own pace with resistance tools including bands, balls and weights. Active Older Adults – this class combines resistance exercises and weight training to decrease the risk of osteoporosis and increase stamina, flexibility and range of motion.
TRX – Beth (TRX) Experience tons of full body exercises with suspension training. Help build strength, flexibility, stability, mobility and endurance.
Yoga-Lates – Kristi (TRX) A synergistic blend of yoga foundations, breathing, structural awareness, Pilates core exercises and mindfulness. Participants will learn to be present in thinking, breathing and movement during this 45 minute opportunity to increase flexibility and strength.
ZUMBA® – Lori (racquetball court) Perfect for everybody and everybody! Take the “work” out of workout by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning Dance Fitness Party! Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you’ll see why ZUMBA® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check. A total workout, combining cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome in every class!
